Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) are now becoming more common throughout a range of public and work places. A casualty's survival rate will dramatically increase if an AED is available and if you have appropriately trained personnel.

 

The course is very practical and will enable your staff to use the AED competently and with confidence.

This course also covers the use of an AED but also includes training in resuscitation and choking procedures.

 

Duration:

 

The training is contracted 6 hours in the classroom and consisting of theoretical and practical activities.

 

Syllabus:

 

The following subjects are covered:

 

Responsibilities and Reporting                          Resuscitation                                Choking

Dealing with an unresponsive casualty             Infection control                           Paediatric defibrillation

AED Functions                                                     Defibrillation procedures

 

Assessment:

 

Each student is assessed during the training.  This is completed via practical and oral assessment, there will be a multiple-choice question paper at the end of the course.

Students will only be awarded a pass if they have displayed the required understanding and competencies at the end of each session through the course and successfully completed the question paper.

 

Certification:

 

The qualifications will last for 3 years.

To re-qualify the student will re quire to complete the full course

It is recommended that annual refresher training is completed every year.

 

Numbers:

 

I am able to train 12 students per course.   The minimum age to qualify is 16.

 

Location:

I have access training classroom in various locations in Telford

I am able to deliver this course on your site subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises
